Take a good long look in the mirror one day. Examine your face. Look at your scars. Search your eyes for fragments of the things you have done. Are you making the same mistakes? If so, then you have some bad habits to work on. If not, then you'll continue to make progress in life. If you can't remember, email me and I'll cry with you about how much of a pain in the (you know what) it is to forget everything most of your life.

It's a new year, with new opportunities for new mistakes. Do yourself a favor, and bury what's past in the past. Resolve to make tons of mistakes and learn from each of them. By 2007 you'll have a "masters" in life. Friends will start calling you "swami" and by embracing your flaws, you'll grow to love your human nature.

Am I encouraging you to mess up? No way. All I'm saying is if you're going to continue to fail, fail like a pro and get back up having learned something from your failure. The greatest error we can commit is growing stagnant. There, there is no progress, there's no growth. You simply rot.  And frankly...."rotting": well, I may be a lot of things, but that is surely not one of them. I'll leave the rotting to the forgotten vegetables in my crisper. (that is, as long as I can remember....)
